The Echoes from Calvary

The Echoes from Calvary Quartet was formed in 1970.  In 1972, it was incorporated in the State of Illinois as a non-profit religious organization, with the purpose of "Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song."

Although the members have changed a little through the years, the message and ministry of the Echoes from Calvary remains exactly the same, and continues today as a trio.

David McGan has been a member of the Echoes since 1971.  He is a member if Immanuel Baptist Temple in Henderson, Kentucky, where he sings in the choir and participates as a keyboard instrumentalist in the worship band. Sharon Thomas joined the Echoes in 1972.  She and her husband, Dorris, live in Brownfield, Illinois, and attend Gospel Mission Tabernacle in Golconda, Ilinois.  Sharon and Dorris are the parents of 4 daughters.  Sharon and her daughters traveled and sang on the program with the Echoes for many years, as the Thomas Family, about as soon as her daughters were old enough to stand.

Twila Staton, the oldest of Sharon's daughters, joined the Echoes in 1984, taking over for her college-bound younger sister, Trina.  Twila also lives in Brownfield, Illinois, with husband Mark, who is a Baptist minister.

Each member considers the Echoes as a ministry given to them by God -- to touch hearts with the Gospel message in song, trusting that it will change lives, as only the Gospel of Jesus Christ truly can.  

In carrying out this ministry, the Echoes from Calvary perform at numerous events each year, primarily in churches, auditoriums, or outdoor events.  Many of these performances are to benefit those with some special need in a community.
